Being Nigel is a short film produced by Synthetic Human Pictures. I started creating title sequences with this company and most of them were practical titles, pre-built in a physical form and filmed. I love this process of building titles (you've gotta make sure your spelling is correct the first time around).
The design process took the longest, hand-drawing each "card" on a bar napkin. Once drawn out, it was filmed twice (I misspelled someone's name) and then edited the shots together to be one single shot. Since almost the entire film took place in a bar, it felt right to make the titles as napkins, a throwback to giving someone your phone number on the back of a bar napkin.
