Inspired by a viral post on Craigslist, this is the story of a Vietnam War Vet who tries to make a life for himself beyond the battlefield, working toward a better future while being haunted by his past.
I wanted the titles to have an eroded look about them and then sort of morph into something clean, hinting at the content of the film and the character’s journey as he tries to create something new with his life after surviving the horrors of war. And with the name of the film, the color choice was a given. The Director, Samuel Gonzalez Jr., supplied me with some clips of overhead shots of plastic soldier battlefields and I cut the footage together and rotoscoped the credits into the shots. Then I added some lighting effects to further integrate the cards into the scene. The process was fun, challenging, and the end product is something I am very proud of.
The film is out on Digital now and I already bought my copy. I highly recommend a viewing, and not just because I worked on it. It’s a great film!
